Australia / Reinsurance Agreement between Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) and Export Finance Australia (EFA)

Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI: Chairman and CEO: Atsuo Kuroda) has concluded a reinsurance agreement with Export Finance Australia (EFA), Export Credit Agency (ECA) of Australia.

The signing ceremony took place on March 13 at NEXI（Tokyo, Japan）between John Hopkins, Managing Director and CEO of EFA and Atsuo Kuroda, Chairman and CEO of NEXI.

NEXI and EFA have built a longstanding cooperative relationship since concluding a One-Stop-Shop Reinsurance Agreement¹ in 2005 with EFA, under its previous name, the Export Finance and Insurance Corporation (EFIC). Further, in 2024, Quad Export Credit Agencies (Quad ECAs) concluded a Memorandum of Cooperation² to strengthen collaboration in areas such as supply chain resilience, critical technologies and emerging technologies as well as climate, energy and Indo-Pacific infrastructure.

The newly concluded reinsurance agreement renews the 2005 One-Stop-Shop Reinsurance Agreement and significantly enhances operational convenience in reinsurance practice. The agreement aims to efficiently and comprehensively support exports to third countries and business collaboration by companies from both Japan and Australia.

NEXI will continue to work in partnership with Export Credit Agencies around the world to actively promote the overseas business development of Japanese companies.
