Signing of Memorandum of Understanding for Enhancement of Cooperation with Ukrainian Financial Housing Company (UFHC)

Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI, Chairman and CEO: Atsuo Kuroda) signed a Memorandum of Understanding for Enhancement of Cooperation (MOU) with Ukrainian Financial Housing Company （UFHC） at the Japan-Ukraine Economic Reconstruction Promotion Forum held in Tokyo on August 4. UFHC is working to provide affordable housing for Ukrainian citizens. This signing ceremony and bilateral talks between Mr. Atsuo Kuroda, Chairman and CEO of NEXI with Mr. Ievgen Metsger, Chairman of UFHC were held at NEXI's head office, coinciding with the visit to Japan by UFHC.

Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, NEXI has provided comprehensive support for Ukraine's economic recovery. This includes establishing credit lines (for overseas investment insurance and short-term trade insurance underwriting)＊１ and hosting workshops aimed at providing technical cooperation to Ukraine's Export Credit Agency (ECA Ukraine)＊２.
Following the confirmation of enhanced support to materialize cooperation projects in infrastructure, agriculture, IT, and other fields at the Japan-Ukraine Economic Recovery Promotion Forum held in August 2025, NEXI will advance discussions with UFHC on support measures utilizing trade insurance and various cooperation possibilities to promote housing supply and housing finance in Ukraine which is now one of the country’s key priorities.
