Republic of Poland／Amendment of MOU with KUKE, ECA of Poland

Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) has signed an amended Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation with KUKE, ECA of Poland (KUKE).

The signing ceremony took place at Japan - Poland 2nd Economic Consultations in Warsaw, Poland on November 8th among Mr. Janusz Władyczak, President & Chief Executive Officer of KUKE, Ms. Katarzyna Kowalska, Deputy President & Chief Executive Officer of KUKE and Kazuki Hondo, Senior Managing Executive Officer, witnessed by Mr. Michał Jaros, Secretary of State -Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, Mr. Shinji Takeuchi, Parliamentary Vice -Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan and Mr. Akira Kono, Ambassador of Japan to Republic of Poland.

In May 2023, NEXI and KUKE signed the MOU¹ to establish a flamework for cooperation in promoting trade and investment between Japan and Poland and to co-ordinate by exchanging information which contributes to both activities. This time, the MOU newly included elements of supporting Ukraine and exchanging information on energy transition, infrastructure, new technology and support to SMEs. Poland is a hub in the Eastern Europe for Japanese companies, and the co-operation between both agencies will strengthen the relationship between Japan and Poland, as well as lead to expanding the business of Japanese companies in Eastern Europe including Ukraine.

NEXI will continue actively to support Japanese companies’ overseas business activities through close cooperation with foreign ECAs.
