Ukraine／Signing MOU with ECA Ukraine

Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation with ECA Ukraine.

The signing exchange ceremony took place on February 19th between Mr. Ruslan Hashev, Chairman of the Management of Board of ECA Ukraine and Atsuo Kuroda, Chairman and CEO of NEXI witnessed by H.E. Mr. Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister of Ukraine, Mr. KISHIDA Fumio, Prime Minister of Japan.
To support the reconstruction of Ukraine, ECA Ukraine and NEXI has been cooperating each other by having workshop on November, 2023¹, focusing on sharing knowledge about investment insurance.

This MOU is to develop further cooperative relations between ECA Ukraine and NEXI, including exchange of information and reinsurance cooperation in support of Japanese companies' trade and investment in Ukraine.
It is expected to promote trade and business between companies of both countries through exchanging of information and know-how.

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, NEXI has maintained “open” for underwriting Ukrainian business and continues to underwrite export and investment insurance. With respect to the international cooperation, in January 2023, NEXI issued a joint statement expressing support for Ukraine as an export credit agency of G7 nations.

NEXI will continue to strengthen its cooperation and relationship with ECA Ukraine and contribute to the reconstruction in Ukraine.
