Uzbekistan / Loan insurance for the export of nationwide data communication system

Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI, Chairman and CEO : Kazuhiko Bando) has decided to provide insurance for a loan extended by a Japanese bank to finance the Uzbek state-owned communication carrier, Uzbektelecom JSC, aimed at its purchase of a nationwide data communication system through Toyota Tsusho Corporation.

The loan will be made in the form of co-financing, granted by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) and Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC). NEXI will undertake the insurance to cover the loan portion executed by SMBC.

The Japanese government has supported the improvement of the Uzbek data communication network by extending ODA loans over 20 years, while NEXI underwrote an insurance for the Digital Terrestrial TV Network Development Project in 2015 . In this project, NEC, which has contributed to the development of the data community network in Uzbekistan, is to export their products. NEXI will support financing the export by providing insurance.

As a Japanese official export credit agency, NEXI will continue to actively support Japanese companies' exports.
