NEXI Establishes Japan-U.S. Strategic Investment Department to promote Japan-U.S. Strategic Investment Initiative

Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI, Chairman & CEO: Atsuo Kuroda) has established the Japan-U.S. Strategic Investment Department to ensure the steady advancement of the Japan-U.S. Strategic Investment Initiative.

The internal Task Force was established on September 26 (see NEXI Release), following the Agreement between Japan and the United States on July 22 and the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Japan and the Government of the United States of America with respect to Strategic Investments on September 4. Its purpose is to examine and prepare support measures through close coordination with the Government of Japan and relevant institutions.

The new division — Japan-U.S. Strategic Investment Department — is tasked with a comprehensive mandate, which includes handling underwriting consultations for individual Japan-U.S. strategic investment projects, project structuring, underwriting insurance, and subsequent follow-up, as well as the design and implementation of necessary insurance frameworks and conditions.
