Turkmenistan /Memorandum of Cooperation between NEXI and TFEB

Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI, Chairman and CEO: Atsuo Kuroda) has signed a Memorandum of Cooperation (MOC) with the State Bank of Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan (TFEB) to promote infrastructure projects and decarbonization in Turkmenistan.

This MOC was signed between Mr. Rahimberdi Jepbarov, Chairman of the Board of the State Bank for Foreign Economic Affairs of Turkmenistan and Mr. Atsuo Kuroda, Chairman and CEO of NEXI, and published at the occasion of the visit of His Excellency Mr. Serdar Berdimuhamedov, President of Turkmenistan, to Japan and summit meeting with His Excellency Mr. Shigeru Ishiba, Prime Minister of Japan in April. This MOC is also mentioned in Fact Sheet announced after the summit meeting1 held on April 15th.

In 2015, NEXI and TFEB signed a MOU to expand business opportunities for both countries, and the MOC is signed to facilitate further cooperation between the two organizations, including cooperation on individual projects and in the areas of enhancement of transparency and promoting decarbonization in Turkmenistan.

NEXI has been supporting trade and investment activities of Japanese companies in Turkmenistan in the fields of such as electric power, energy and transportation equipment, and will continue to actively support Japanese companies to expand their global business and strengthen economic relations between Japan and Turkmenistan through cooperation with foreign export credit agencies and support by NEXI’s trade insurance.
