Nippon Export and Investment Insurance

Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI, Chairman and CEO: Atsuo Kuroda) has decided to provide insurance for a loan of EUR 140 million to be provided by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Deutsche Bank AG Tokyo Branch and ING Bank N.V., Tokyo Branch to Türk Eximbank in Türkiye.

Türk Eximbank is the Turkish Export Credit Agency (ECA), engaged in providing working capital and equipment financing to promote Türkiye’s foreign trade activities. The loan facility to be supported by NEXI will be utilized to support the working capital needs of Japanese companies in Türkiye as well as local Turkish exporters who have business relationships with Japanese companies. This is expected not only to contribute to Japanese overseas business and its supply chains with Türkiye but also to strengthen the economic partnership between Türkiye and Japan. The insurance is offered in line with NEXI’s LEAD1 Initiative launched in December 2020 and this is the first transaction entered into with a foreign ECA.

As Japanese ECA, NEXI will continue to support the international expansion of Japanese companies and the enhancement of international supply chains while working closely with foreign governments and government agencies as well as with private financial institutions.
