MOU on cooperation between NEXI and Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan

On April 19, Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI; Chairman and CEO: Atsuo Kuroda) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation with the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The MOU signing ceremony was conducted online.

The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan is a governmental organization which manages the economic policy of the country, develops various sectors of the economy including the management and promotion of investments by private businesses, attracts foreign investments, encourages domestic and international trade, etc.

This MOU aims to cooperate in promotion of trade between Japan and Azerbaijan while providing support for companies from both countries to better tap on development opportunities in the partner country’s markets.

NEXI has been supporting Japan’s exports to Azerbaijan by offering trade insurance.

Under this newly signed agreement, NEXI will develop a business environment to stimulate further bilateral economic activities on a private-sector basis.

Through strengthening tie-ups with foreign governments of destination countries for export and investment, NEXI continues to actively support overseas business operations of Japanese companies.

Main items of the MOU

  1. 1. Exchange of information on political, economic and market conditions in the two countries and neighboring regions
  2. 2. Training of staff members from NEXI and the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan
  3. 3. Exchange of views on trade insurance businesses
