December 23, 2019

Nippon Export and Investment Insurance

Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI; Chairman and CEO: Atsuo Kuroda) concluded a General Cooperation Agreement (GCA) with the Hungarian Export Credit Insurance Private Limited Company (MEHIB), the export credit agency in Hungary. It was signed by NEXI’s Chairman and CEO Mr. Atsuo Kuroda and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary Péter Szijjártó on December 6, 2019 in the presence of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Hungarian Prime Minister Orbán Viktor.

This aims to form the framework between NEXI and MEHIB to promote the trade and economic cooperation between Japan and Hungary, and encourage the collaboration between the two organizations through activities such as exchanging information on politics, economy and financial market of both countries and neighboring countries.

As there are about 160 Japanese companies operating in Hungary, with the conclusion of the GCA, we will endeavor to improve the business environment so that the economic activities of both countries could become more active.

NEXI will continue to support Japanese companies’ overseas business by developing cooperation with other export credit agencies.

<Main contents of the GCA>
1. Exchange of information on politics, economy, market, etc. of Japan, Hungary and neighboring countries
2. Training of staff from NEXI and MEHIB
