~ Loan Supporting Export of Iron Ore Carrier Built by Imabari Shipbuilding ~
Nippon Export and Investment Insurance
Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI; President and CEO: Kazuhiko Bando) has decided to provide insurance to support loans to MacLin Sunny Maritime S.A., an entity of the Republic of Panama financed by Taiwan’s Ta Tong Marine (“TTM”) Group. MacLin Sunny Maritime S.A. is going to use the loans to purchase an iron ore carrier built by Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.
The loans are provided through cofinancing by Citibank, N.A. and Japan Bank for International Cooperation. NEXI’s insurance will support Citibank’s loan portion.
The TTM Grup, a bulk carrier owner and operator, will buy a 241,000 dwt1 iron ore carrier built by Imabari, which will be on charter to shipping company in Japan.
As a financial institution implementing Japan’s policy, NEXI will continue to support Japanese exports.
